We got a nice mention in this article at the website Silicon Angle. Their article is based on a report by Wikibon that shows how intelligent racks are technically and economically advantageous for data centers.
The figures they quote are staggering. A whopping 70% boost in asset management.
Raritan’s smart rack management solution captures detailed power statistics at the room-, zone-, row-, rack, PDU, and outlet-level on a continuous basis. It helps data center managers track and visualize data center assets, collect a wide range of power information including current, voltage, kW, kVA, kWh, and environmental data such as temperature, humidity, airflow, and differential air pressure. Plug-and-play sensors are easily deployed such as at cool-air inlets following ASHRAE guidelines. Raritan’s solution also offers multiple layers of security – including SNMPv3, HTTPS, SSL, AES, Active Directory®, LDAP/S, and SSH.
Data center managers can easily monitor their operation’s health, maintain a holistic view of the data center and quickly take corrective action when necessary with a smart rack solution.

It’s been an incredibly busy year at Raritan with product advances and growing sales. Amidst the chaos, the team found time to hold its first March for Babies walk to raise money for the March of Dimes foundation.
March of Dimes, whose slogan is “Marching together for stronger, healthier babies”, is an organization that raises money to support programs and research that help moms have healthy pregnancies, and therefore, healthy babies. The March for Babies program has been running since 1970 and has raised over $2 billion for the support of moms and babies nationwide.
An impressive 55 Raritan walkers raised over $4,000 in support of the March for Babies campaign to help families in their community produce healthy and happy babies. This Raritan team traded in their dedication to the office for helping families who truly needed it.

Power Monitoring.
Power management.
Power tools.
What do these 3 have in common? Raritan employees! On a normal workday, Raritan makes software that helps make life easier for data center managers but every now and then they pick up power tools to help those who need a place to call home.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit volunteer organization that builds and rehabilitates homes for families in need of shelter. Habitat homes are given to these families in return for hours of their own labor and monthly mortgage payments financed by donations and affordable loans.
Raritan employees took time away from designing power monitoring and management software to hold both a bake sale and a car wash to collect donations for Habitat for Humanity. Each employee that participated donated their time and money to the foundation to help those less fortunate.
While this team’s usual 9-5 work day consists of crossing off items on to do lists and participating in meetings, I’m sure they would say that devoting a rainy day to building roofs over people’s heads is more rewarding.

Have you ever wished you were racing cars like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Danica Patrick, Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton instead of racing around a data center? Here is your chance and you’ll earn BICSI CEC’s.
Come as our guest for breakfast, a few presentations on the latest data center technologies and lunch. Then experience real head-to-head racing at F1 Boston’s indoor karting. You’ll drive high-performance karts capable of 45 mph which seems extremely fast as you try to navigate a track designed by professional racers to maximize the challenge for both experienced and novice drivers.
Join Active Power, E-Systems Group, OptiCool, Raritan and Xirrus to learn about:
Then see if you have what it takes to rack up fast lap times and pass other racers on the track.
Racing is optional.
