—Raritan to Speak on Designing Critical Power Chains for Higher-Density Loads at DatacenterDynamics Conference—

SOMERSET, N.J. (March 10, 2014) – Raritan – a leading provider of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) and rack power distribution solutions – will be speaking tomorrow at the DatacenterDynamics Converged Conference in New York on how to optimize data center cabinet power distribution designs for higher density loads.

Data center managers are deploying more and more power to their IT equipment racks to keep up with power-hungry devices.  Racks filled with 1U “pizza box” servers, multiple blade server chassis, and network storage devices are driving higher demands for power.

Raritan’s presentation will explore best practices and considerations for deploying high power in data centers, and how industry leaders – including Twitter, eBay, and Disney – have addressed the trend toward cabinet loads upwards of 10kW for data center designs.

Speaker: David Wood, Raritan Director- Power Business
Tuesday, March 11, 11:50 am, Hall 3, Marriott Marquis

According to Wood, “Many data center managers are doing a good job conserving energy.  They are decreasing PUE, raising data center temperatures, and using air-side economizers to reduce energy consumption.  But, power consumption at the rack is still going up due to power-hungry blade servers and other equipment.  As a result, data centers are finding that they must deploy new power strategies to support higher-density loads.”

Raritan, a sponsor of the DatacenterDynamics conference, will be showing in Booth #66 its power solutions, including intelligent rack PDUs and DCIM software, and other solutions designed to help manage data centers resources efficiently and smartly.
